Life coaching for those recovering from addiction
Every Wednesday at 6p Eastern, we have a group call. Drop in & see what we’re about!
You’re in the right place if...
There is a rhythm beneath everything you control.
It waits behind the noise, behind the promises to do better, behind the tired laughter that hides the ache.
You can feel it even now, pulsing in the space between breath and thought.
This is not a method.
It's a remembering.
Every craving, every collapse, carries information.
Each is a messenger, asking you to stop managing and start listening.
When you do, control becomes awareness.
Awareness becomes movement.
Movement becomes freedom.
We do not chase recovery here.
We practice presence until it begins to change us.
The body becomes the compass.
The sensation becomes the guide.
You will not be fixed,
you will be felt.
This is the quiet rebellion
the art of returning to yourself
through the patience of breath,
the honesty of attention,
and the courage to stay.
About
Cognitive Compass
Hi, I’m Caleb! I help you change how you think, so you can change how you live.
I offer one-on-one, non 12 step recovery coaching for people who know something in their life needs to change but haven’t found a home in traditional recovery programs. Drawing from my own lived experience and my certification through the National Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapists, my coaching is structured yet personalized, focused on helping clients build the life they want through practical strategies and daily practice.
I work with people facing a wide range of maladaptive behaviors, including substance use and gambling addiction, guiding them to develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and long-term change. For the past two years, I’ve facilitated SMART Recovery groups and also host a weekly mindfulness-based discussion group using fables and music to explore the beliefs and patterns that shape our lives.
I spent years battling alcohol addiction that cost me my marriage and brought me to the edge of a cliff. Looking over that edge, I saw just how close I was to doing irreversible damage to the trajectory of my life. I stepped back and began rebuilding. Through focused thought work and uncompromising change, I created a new vision of the good life. Today, that means serving in senior leadership at Habitat for Humanity in Lima, Ohio, founding Cognitive Compass, and being fully present in the lives of my two sons.
My goal is simple: to help others find the same clarity, stability, and direction that turned my life around without shame, labels, or rigid paths.

Wednesdays at 6p Eastern on Google Meet
We get together once a week to see what happens. Sometimes it's a poem. Sometimes a fable. Sometimes someone shows up with a story that changes the whole night.
There's no cost, no membership, no perfect way to be here. We trade plans for presence, judgment for curiosity,
and let the conversation find its own shape. We don't fix anyone. We just notice things together. A line in a story might turn into a question. A laugh might open into something real. Someone might say the exact thing you didn't know you needed to hear.
We call it practice because that's what it is, a space to try honesty, to feel what's moving through you, to remember what it's like to connect without pretending.
Come as you are.
Bring your coffee, your mess, your wonder. We'll be right there with you, listening, laughing, and learning how to stay awake together. -
